In Response To: Re: Chimera.bungie.com has gone live (Dan Rudolph)

: Misc bits: The narrator is not the narrator from Myth 2,
: as this guy was a Heron when Muirthemne fell and the
: Myth 2 narrator is a new recruit, assuming he made it.

Could be his friend Fenris is the Myth 2 narrator; if he *didn't* make it into the guard he may have fallen on hard times, and done things he regretted.

: It looks like there's a good Baron.

Or the Baron was sent to bring the good guys to the sorceress.

: The journeymen are back, or at least there's one.

: New units
: Wasps: It looks like ground units can get them if they
: try to attack, but I'm sure about the rest of the
: time.

I think they're probably attackable all the time; like the soulless, they don't hover high enough to ever be out of reach. Further, I don't think the Myth engine would allow them to be vulnerable to melee attacks only during their attack. I sorta wish they were more ordinary-sized; it would be nice to have some sort of "nuisance enemy" which didn't do a lot of damage but was practically impossible to hit with your sword or an arrow. You'd have to use an area attack before they got too close. Ah, well. What do you want to bet these guys have poisoned stings? :)

: The fir'Bolg return, now with poison arrows. (I assume
: they cause paralysis)

And there's a new region of forest called Ruewood.

: Fenris: Comes from near a forest. Not clear if it's the
: Ermine or Forest Heart.

: Kyrilla: Apparently the main villainess.

She seems to be attuned to and have control over "lower lifeforms"; she is, perhaps, a devotee of b'Y'laggo (check out the bre'Unor on the downloads page.) "Chimera" literally means a hybrid of multiple species.

: Skeleton Horde: the new girl also uses undead. I gues the
: dream of unlife is out of the bag now.

Note that this style of unlife is the same as the Myrmidon's, in that their personalities are apparently preserved. They aren't just mindless automatons like the thrall.

: It's not clear if the dream runner is totally new or a
: hax0red wolf.

Hey Forrest, notice any similarities to our aborted madJman project? The protagonists are a renegade Journeyman and the warrior who protects him; the enemies are more natural and less supernatural than in the original Myth; changelings are important to the story; the fir'Bolg are led by a champion archer and carry poisoned arrows; there's a wolf whose power lies in dreams. Coinkidink?
