omg you're right, you're totally right. The firing posture is plain wrong - almost like they didn't trouble to study what a real archer does before animating their arcs.
In the pic below the two archers on the left are at different stages in firing. One has just released an arrow (straight into the back of the dorf btw ;) This is an earlier pic, and the arcs don't have their quivers yet.
The one that's fired shows the same problems you've just pointed out - bent arm being the most significant. Also the arm holding the string is wrong. It should have pulled further back after release, not forward in the direction of the string. In fact, he almost looks like he's nocking an arrow rather than firing one.
The other archer looks like he is in fact about to nock an arrow. The bow arm is straight, but for some reason he seems to be holding the arrow halfway along, which seems a little wierd.
Lank, its a pity you didn't wax lyrical on archer animations on one of the forums before now, as this seems to have gone totally unnoticed. Oh well. Btw, its my understanding that Vengeance will have animation tools included - its the models themselves that have to be made in 3DS Max.
cheers
