But back to the topic, It is fairly possible (and fairly sick) that watcher could be a result of a myrmidon and a calliach erm, "interbreeding".
the Watcher's body is clearly humanoid-almost too humanoid to fill the picture of a calliach correctly. It is also often suggested by how he looks that he is fairly adept at sword welding. Yet he is far too large to be a myrmidon, about the appropriate size of a calliach. And he has those magical powers. ooh...
