: Precisely! This is not today's society. I am named
: "Luke", yet the origin of that name is about
: 4,000 miles away in England, and
You're American right? Which nation was it that colonised the US, and was forced out after the Civil War? Hmmmm.... I knew it a few days ago.
: This is why I pointed out that the Mythworld is very,
: very isolated, and an area no larger than Europe can
: qualify as the entire world. Hell, even different
: classes of the Provincials have different names, as is
: visible between the Warriors and the Bowmen.
I would think the differening names would have little bearing on a person's position in battle. There is no way that all archers come from one province and all warriors come from another. That's just dumb logic
: You don't sound like a writer to me. A writer would want
: to portray things from many different angles to
: describe a more complete universe. You would have the
: events placed in the Province? Rubbish. It can be
: practically anywhere that people who are like Andir
: live.
Actually I am a writer, and quite a good one, and that's not just my opinion. I've won several writing competitions and awards, both in my school and state, as well as having a story in review for publishing as I type. Let's not make assumptions about things we have no idea about, shall we?
: No, never. I would shoot myself before succumming to that
: kind of monotony in my writing.
Go ahead. :)
: What we know about the Northmen: besides the zerks,
: NOTHING! Town guard? Where does it say that?
Actually, and I don't know where in the game I read it, it says that the Berserks found to find their homeland barely touched, and I quote 'a tribute to their homeguard'.
: And If a witch burns, and wood burns, a witch must be
: made of wood. Wood floats in water. A duck also floats
: in water. Therefore, a witch must weight the same as a
: duck, and any woman that weighs as much as a duck is a
: witch.
: The same kind of horridly illogical reasoning is what has
: led to thousands of innocents being murdered over the
: centuries. I hope you realize that your own logic is
: just as flawed.
That analogy has no bearing on what I said. We know they have a town guard. Now, let's delve into the purpose of a town guard? A town guard has the responsibility to protect a given location from harm. How do they do this? By preparing for danger, keeping watch and confronting said danger. It is entirely feasible that a village the size of Andir's does not have a town guard though, so the point is moot.
