In Response To: Has "Undeath" Ever Been Used? *PIC* (Archer »))
: I have an important question: has the word
: "undeath" actually ever been used in Myth?
: ever? Get back to me as soon as you can, or I'll write
: the follow-up to this without further comments. :-)
I think we'll be able to make our definition list of Life and its derivitives quite a bit shorter soon. :-)
Ok, after careful research and devision, I have found out that the word "undeath" is not used in Myth, ever! That's great news! That means only the terms "undead" and "unlife" have been used in Myth of the longer list which existed before!
Undead (adj.)
- in the state between life and death, being relatively dead, yet still having living characterstics like animation. This animation is sustained by supernatural magics (of unlife) which generate the undead creature.
Undead (n.)
- a being or, preferably, beings which are in a state neither of life nor death referred to as unlife.
Unlife (n.)
- the state of being undead.
- the magic which creates, generates, and sustains undead beings.
That's all! That means that an undead creature's existence is called unlife. And that's it :-). No more complex "unalive", "undeath" terms. We've narrowed it down to two that actually exist. Woohoo! Score one for the Asylum!
