: If you need run of the mill, basic stuff, I'm your man.
: :)

Hehe.

: I'll go with that.
: Aye. I was going to say 'Always through Necromancy' but
: decided not to risk it, in case someone could think of
: a disproving example.

That's a good move. I would have done the same thing, but "usually," to me, seems to indicate there is an example to the contrary, etc.

: Undead- Life artificially or supernaturally given through
: the use of Necromancy?

I tend to keep away from using the word "life". Not only is life hard to define in and of itself, it's not really "life" that a mortanimant has. It's usually not more than animation. And by artificially, I mean supernaturally. We can pretty much get rid of the term "artificial" and replace it with "supernatural" since that's what I originally meant by it.

: Although this could then
: include cyborgs.

Exactly. This is also why I conjoined artificial and supernatural with a slash, since artificial shouldn't be kept away from it to define Borg and other cyborgs.

: Unless 'Life artificially or
: supernaturally given to a previously dead organism
: through the use of necromancy'.

Yeah, let's stick with supernaturally generated/sustained animation of a being (divine intervention counting as natural).

: I'm in agreement with Sili, in that I think Unlife is the
: same as Undeath.

This is where I found that a term to describe *both* "undeath" and "unlife" would be best since the existing terms are inexact, or we don't know for sure (like with unlife). We can always define "undeath" and "unlife" in terms of "mortanimation".

    Undeath is mortanimation.
    Unlife is mortanimation.

See :-) Now they *are* the same thing, as far as we are concerned. "Unlife" is allowed to be generalized to mean the state of "life", the time of existence, while still meaning the same thing as "undeath". What greater victory is there? :-)

: I like mortanimate, and I'll try to use it.

Cool! I'm sure it'll help us out.

: I don't think
: I'll use it a lot, but it's a good word to add to our
: Myther vocabulary.

Aye to that! :-) We're generating a lot here in the way of theories and accepted concepts. Do you know how much the Asylum actually invented? Lol, on MythWolfAge, people are confused about stuff they heard and thought was true, whether directly from the Asylum or through different sources. It all starts here! :-) Culweh being Shiver is one (Asylumites read GURPS and then transferred that knowledge into the general Myther psyche). Without a doubt, we have the power to/and control all the thoughts and beliefs of the general Myth community. This is why we should strive to reach agreement on a lot of these topics, to work for the Myth community to figure out how the pieces work together, and benefit everyone in the process.

: Some good research Archer! :)

Thanks, LR! :-)
