No, it states that Balor promised them imortality. In reality, we know this to be very untrue; the myrms, though tough, are very mortable :-).

It means they can't die at all. That would indicate that either myrms don't actually die when they fall apart and are "killed", or that they're already dead :-). So, perhaps it is wise to reject the idea that they are actually immortal, as the conclusions are rediculous.
In any case, if Balor's magic (not necessarily connected to Balor directly) is the only thing sustaining the myrms, then they are not living naturally and are animated artificially. All things artificially animated (through magic), formerly naturally animated, are undead(or unliving, whathaveyou).
