I thought the Zerk said some think like this... "ahh this was nothen, at the Stair of Grief our swords got so dull that we had to fight with our bare hands!" "You know how hard it is to strangle the undead?"
He was talken about the epic battle at the Stair of Grief back in the first of second year of the war in the west. One of the fallen, Shiver I think, was crossing the Stair of Grief menacing the North-Mens homes. So they gathered as many of there warriors as they could than ambushed Shivers vanguard crushing it utterly. After that she retreated back into the east. It was the only real defeat the fallen suffered for nearly 10 years.
I am fairly certain this is correct but if anyone disagrees or has more information please post it. I am interested in the first few years of the first war in the west.
