: As you've repeated this a bit, let me discuss it. I don't
: agree at all that they're "mostly fleshy".
: All moisture has evaporated from their bodies, leaving
: them as a magically constructed apparition of bones
: and dust held together by skin. The closest parallel
: would be the unfortunates of our world who are
: starving - they have no sag, indeed those parts of
: their bodies are practically devoid of flesh.
Look at the Myrmidon picture on pg 52 of GURPS. As you can see, with the exception of the stomach region, which has rotted away, the rest of the Myrmidon appears both intact and pretty heavily muscled, rather than practically devoid of flesh, although their skin is stretched pretty tight.
: Mb, mb not. They may worship beauty among their own race
: (certainly they did worship their own beauty at one
: time) and may have had a tradition prior to becoming
: dark or recruiting beautiful women as new members of
: their clan.
Good point, although I still doubt that the word "smitten" would really be appropriate were this the case.
: This is perhaps the strongest argument in your favour
: here, seeing how Bungie researched the mythology of
: their creations so thoroughly. On the other hand,
: perhaps they would want to make it that obvious.
Actually, that reminds me: the mythology. The only Mythological reference to Myrmidons is a band of warriors (male warriors) who followed Achilles at Troy, who had been created from ants by Zeus.
: Heh, that's really as fair an assumption as any, and
: really it'd work just as well to have this model as to
: have an all-female race of Myrmidons. My only hope is
: that we see plenty of myrms in-game in Myth 3 and get
: to find out :) Also, that they use their grishnaka(?)
: blades rather than the wimpy bone things that
: Ravanna's carrying ;)
At least we all agree on something. :)
And for once, we actually have a discussion here in which we'll be able to conclusively find out who was right.
: cheers
: Iron
: PS: I can't resist. We know they're female because
: they're mummies, not daddies :)
