: GURPS is the only thing that suggests that Culwyeh was an
: alias of Shiver. This is based on this m2 Wight flavor
: text: "...once known as the Messengers of
: Culwyeh, a name now forgotten by all but the most
: devout pupils of Necromancy, these miserable creatures
: seek only release from their hellish existence."
: Ok, so GURPS is what says that Culwyeh is a name for
: Shiver. GURPS also says that Culwyeh invented Wights.
: That leads to the conclusion that Shiver invented
: Wights.
: Notice how this stuff was totally invented in GURPS and
: isn't even alluded to anywhere else? It could be that
: Culwyeh is an alias for Moagim Reborn, or that, though
: the Messengers of Culwyeh, they were not invented by
: Culwyeh, just happened to be associated with him/her.
This is true and I did pause before posting this. The only thing that made me continue was the fact that many story discrepancies have actually been rectified by one of MJ's team sweeping in and, in a suitably cryptic fashion, saying "no that ain't how it is…" That didn't happen in this case. However, I'm still doubtful of this one.
: Actually, that seems more likely to just be a reference
: to that Shiver takes a misretribution by joining
: Soulblighter.
Obvious, perhaps… likely, perhaps not. The Deciever is known throughout the lands of Myth for is barbed wit and, while we don't _know_ for certain, I imagine that it's so only because of
a). The Deceiver wouldn't let somehing like that slip without a worthy comment.
b). He wasn't necessarily referring to Soulblighter… If she indeed did betray the Light to Moagim it would probably have been for something Connacht did to her, hence "the path to retribution." If she was sleeping with Moagim through either his seduction or her free will when this happened then that just drives the stake in further. She has no need for retribution with Alric… Rabican, who killed her is dead and only the Deciever would be someone she'd have fought back in the Wolf Age. True she would have joined SB just because she's so eviiil… but that's _not_ retribution.
c). If she was sleeping with Moagim or somehow involved with him ala evidence "b" Rabican's taunt would have made sense… why she'd be ashamed enough to lose her balance is beyond my ken.
: Well, your idea does…but it's not based on anything
: substantial.
Actually it was two seperate ideas… the first one was conjecture and the second grounded in solid possibility. I like the second better, as you can see by my defense arguments for both ;)
