GURPS again? GURPS is the only resource that even considers the possibility that they are two different spirits. And even then, it's only a suggestion. Seeing as GURPS has a number of inaccuracies already proven to exist, we can realize that something as absurd as a duel-spirit hypothesis is nothing more than an idea trying to make sense of a couple things, in a rather ineffectual way. Shiver being Light as Ravanna in the Wolf Age explains everything. Why make up something that has no evidence for it?

It can, but it's never mentioned and isn't in any string. This is an either-way situation.
