: In the introduction to the Myth II manual, Soulblighter
: and some unnamed ancient beings prepare to destroy an
: unsuspecting village. Now I always assumed that his
: servant creatures, "nameless for a thousand
: years," were the Myrkridia. But in the game, the
: Myrkridia aren't resurrected until long after open war
: has broken out between Soulblighter and the Province.
The Legion goes west far ahead of Soulblighter, thanks to the World Knot. They search for the Codex, and send the Seventh Legion south to stop Soulblighter's army. They and everyone in scales are killed, and a month later the Myrkridia arrive.
Now, who knows what the people of the north, out in the middle of the Province, knew of all this? They didn't exactly have the Internet to get their news from. Aside from that, remember that Andir's parents didn't really tell him the whole truth. Would you tell your kids that the most evil creatures ever, even more evil than the undead of the Great War, not only had existed in the past but were currently being ressurected and headed towards home? So Andir's out looking for monsters, unaware that Soulblighter is alive and killing, then suddenly he's bitten by a magic crow, who multiplies and turns into Soulblighter, accompanied by the nameless creatures of a thousand years; the Myrkridia.
