: By now I'm sure everybody has seen the new pic of Ravanna
: for m3. Aside from her strong resemblance to Xena, the
: thing that stood out most to me was her title,
: "Myrmidon Hero". This set the ol' brain
: gears in motion, and after a little(very little)
: thought, I came to the conclusion that ALL myrmidons
: may in fact be female. Let's take a look at the facts
: we know.
Just like to point out that Ravanna is a definate hotty. It's no wonder she had a bad case of vanity, if she is present, hopefully we'll see more of her kind. And I don't just mean that as a teenage boy, but also as a Myth story fan.
: First, the myrmidon flavor text says that they "were
: most vain about their long hair and body paint,
: spending the eve of battle before a mirror rather than
: in a bedroll." I always just assumed that myrms
: were just long-haired dudes that were in touch with
: their femininity, but you gotta give it some thought:)
: One also has to remember that Shiver was extreamly
: vain, even to the point of it being a weakness.
Good point. I'd always assumed that the Myrmidons just shared the vanity of other vain races such as the Persians.
: Secondly, we have the myrmidon units themselves. If one
: takes a close look at them, one will notice that they
: have some very strategicaly placed strips of cloth on
: their chests, which would just cover the area that
: would most need covering were they not dessicated and
: mummified.
*Goes to look* Yegads! The passive anarchist is right!
: One thing I considered was the names of individual Myrms.
: Names like Lifedoom, Hearttear, and Skinpeel aren't
: very feminine. But then I remembered that one of the
: pre-release names of the fallen lords was
: Bonesplitter, a VERY myrmidon-ish name.
We may have just solved another portion of the Fallen Lords riddle.
