I recently noted, however, when working on the Encyclopedia, that the dates for "Shiver", "Twice Born", and "The Forge" are the same, meaning that Shiver and Myrdred could have died AFTER Soulblighter died.
Or, what if they died at the same time, and those phantom crows at the end were Soulblighter's spirit escaping as the crow Myrdred held was freed? Besides, his heart is still alive somewhere in the Untamed Lands, so he can't be completely dead...
