: Yeah, I once thought it was limited to a Norse world as
: well.
: Omg! This is incredible! Besides the fact that the
: serpents of Medusa’s hair being akin to the Dragon,
: the Watcher is “The Mad Goat of Fens.” The Goat is
: associated directly with the Dragon or Leviathan or
: other sea creature in many mythologies, including
: Christianity, where Jesus is represented by both a
: Goat, or Lamb, and Fish. Also, there are many fish or
: aquatic gods which are gods of grain and food
: (strange, concidering one is on earth and the other in
: water). Interestingly enough, the drowed Goat in many
: mythologies becomes the fish, both of which are
: associated with grain and food (Jesus’ body is a
: representation of food and life, the bread/grain; see
: this article:

: Very nice work, Tronyn!
Thanks ;)
And not only that, but the Bahl'al descends into the water!*
I guess we'll find out in Myth III, but perhaps this is the point where he becomes 'Mad' - if he was ever good this may be where he becomes evil. And of course there's the Goat/Devil connection as well...
*(flavour text for thrall: "Bahl'al descended into the flooded, rustin halls of Sianwon and there took no breath for nine days, searching the ruined palaces and temples of the Trow for the dream of unlife."). Very, very interesting.
