I have some theories about Alric and Deceiver.
1st- Alric and deceiver became good friends in Barrier, when Deceiver caught him. Than he trapped him in *The five champions trap* and put some evil and slow(thralls, soulless and ghols) units for guard him. That's why our five champions rescued him very fast and easy.
AND
2nd- Balor was Connacht, Connacht was Emperor of The Cath Bruig Empire, Myrdred was Connacht's Avatara.
So, I think that Avataras was very loyal to Emperors of The Cath Bruig Empire. And they couldn't help them. They must be always where their master was and they had to protect him. Every avatara had to serve his Emperor well, even if he turns evil. But when Balor died, and there were no Emperor, every avatara had to server to The Cath Bruig Empire. And when Alric(his zerks) save Deceiver, *healing him*, he had to protect The Cath Bruig Empire, that means that he had to defeat SB, and THAT means that he must help Alric to do this(Alric wanted defeat SB too, so Dec help him and than help to protect Emperor, Alric, and The Cath Bruig Empire).
Herons was very loyal to Emperors of The Cath Bruig Empire, BUT not so loyal like avataras. They didn't follow Balor, because he was evil. They will always protect and follow their emperor if he will do good not evil things. And avataras always had to follow him, if he is evil they must follow him.
