: I agree; although they can't stand against a Fallen Lord,
: they do have personalities and names etc. and are
: powerful. They aren't Fallen Lords, but they aren't
: *mindless* undead either; they have their own
: category: shades. *Shadehood* is their 'nature' and
: their 'office'.
Kinda like the Fetch/Myrdraal in Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time when compared to the more powerful Forsaken. Except Fetch don't have names or personalities. Dammit! My theory is full of holes!
: They aren't mentioned in-game, but of you open the Shade
: Names string list in Fear, you can find them there.
I agree with Archer, pre-game stuff isn't necessarily canon. If we want to get nit-picky, pregame stuff might be canon, as they obviously drew it from their design docs.
: Yep... just note that Nym's presence in that 3rd party
: map doesn't validate his existence as an actual Bungie
: character, it is the fact he is present in Fear that
: makes him a *real* character. If sciron named the
: shade in his solo anything other than the shade names
: in TFL and MII, that shade would only be a 3rd party
: creation; even though Nym was in that solo, what
: happened in that map isn't canon, but it still is 3rd
: party fun.
Well aware of that. I just pointed it out.
: Yeah i think 30 is the max number, but 20-25 is
: reasonable for the total also. Then again, we could be
: dead wrong; this is just Welly-rific speculation :D
As compared to Lord Raven-rific ideas.
: Personally I think Connacht and Mazz cannot be listed on
: that particular list because it is the Narrator's list
: of things within his known "living memory".
: And Connacht and Mazz are not within his living
: memory.
I suppose it's open to debate. Since Heron Guard have been around since Muirthemne's fall, their living memory is a lot longer than that of a Warrior or Ghol.
: Of course, Mazz and Connacht are probably one of the most
: powerful, but again, are not during that time of
: "living memory." So, the Narrators' list
: likely has people such as the Watcher, Myrdred, Balor,
: and Rabican. But, Balor isn't truly human; he is a
: diety in human form, and probably doesn't belong on
: that list; he is on a different scale.
I'd still say he would've had Balor on there, regardless of his status as a mortal, demigod or full god.
: But again, we are just speculating... we cannot prove any
: of this yet... hopefully MWA will solve our problems

: Sure, what would you like to discuss?
Er, nothing, I was just trying to be witty. *Panics and flees*
