You mention that, because the names are in Fear, they are canonically acceptable names of Shades that we simply aren't told further about.
If we go by Fear, Brigands, with a running animation, were going to replace warriors (hence "brigand light" and "brigand dark"; and "warrior m1" and "warrior", one being the replacement for the other). Mauls were originally called Oghres (which is strange, concidering Oghres were known to have been killed by the Trow…). There are a bunch of other things like this too, including the "Lichs" originally going to be the replacement for Thrall ("thrall" and "thrall m1").
This is all non-canon, pre-release-equivalent evidence. Fear is the proverbial backstage for the events we see on the living stage ingame. There are props backstage from old plays in my school's auditorium that haven't been used, but might have been used, for last fall's play.
However, what do you make of the fact that those names were all prepared and *meant* for us to be known, readied to be presented to us in full (and I think there's one instance where there is a single Shade without anything specific in purpose somewhere in the game).
I think we can take all the names we are presented with within the Fear tags as canon material directly a part of the full game of Myth II. Names of the tags we cannot and should not.
