Absolutely not. We, unfortunately, know for a fact exactly what Europe of the geologic past looked like, and there was no time anywhere for there to be the differences we see or for humanity to evolve to any state of what we see.
Instead, it is far more believable that the Mythworld is of the future, where emmense geological changes could have occurred to allow what we see be true, including any kind of alien or severely advanced human being to become the gods which create the creatures of the Earth.
I highly doubt that all we know of Myth is in the past.
