I take your point and I myself feel that Soulblighter SHOULD have destroyed Tharsis...the World...but he didn't so that allowed for a different theory. If you go to the link archer has so kindly provided for us, there's shit loads of stuff on Atlantis and it's Apocalypse leading to the rise of modern civilisation and there are some Myth-related ideas in there. I at first thought it wasn't up to much but on further reading of the site I found more reason to praise it.
"What has this got to do with Myth, though?" you say. Well, the cataclysm that submerged Atlantis was a huge volcanic eruption. I'm positive a Myth Apocalypse would involve Tharsis and the Mythworldersw must know this too. Take the journal entry for the Forge for example: The legion are obbviously shitting themselves when Soulblighter does the "unthinkable", they know if he destroys the volcano, the world will be destroyed, why else would they be forced to follow him in to stop him"shattering the Cloudspine.
You may say, "yeah well, he didn't, so here's no Apocalypse" but Chistianity has and Armageddon which hasn't yet happened although they still believe in it. Just because it hasn't or didn't happen, it doesn't mean there isn't going to be one. It's probably been prophecied by the Trow and maybe the Warlocks or the Ghôls know about it. The journal writer doesn't say something like, "aha, so this is the [insert name of the end of the world] prophesied in the book of Seanchaid." because he might no know about it or prefers to just state what it is without the name.
OK, I'm rambling now, but I think you get the point.
