: I don't understand that... since when do you need a piece
: of paper signed by someone else to Bind a person?
: Myrdred never stopped to ask a Krid or a Maul if he could
: sign a document before binding him. Unless, this is
: the new Docu-Bind dream ;D
Martel is arguing that this *isn't* the Binding Dream, though, but is more akin to "selling your soul." The Brigands sign a contract--or engage in some other ceremony--that gives their masters a "foothold" in their spirits, from which they can be further swayed and Darkened. The same way people who sell their souls to the Devil aren't supposed to go to Hell just because of that; they go to Hell because that act gave the Devil a hold on their souls he could use to influence them into greater sin.
At least, I think I'm interpreting Martel's post correctly. :-) I don't really have an opinion on whether it's true or not, but I do agree that Soulblighter probably used something other than the Binding Dream. It takes more than a quick choke to snap someone out of Myrdred's control, I think. :-)
