: It seems that Archer and HGK are havig a silly argument
: at the moment and I aim to resolve it by providing a
: mission objective for all Asylumites based on what I
: feel this forum should allow us to do.
Since it's unclear, It seems I should delineate the nature of this "argument." There is none, really. Quite simply, HGK put us down and basically said "get a life" to us.
I said, "Very well. You go off and play while we stay here and theorize about the story. We enjoy this as you enjoy playing. You want to go, go! "
He said, "I enjoy theorize about story too, BUT I don't like discuss about things that never exists."
From this rather broken sentence, we can decipher, "I enjoy theorizing about the story too, BUT I don't like to discuss about things that never existed."
That's a rather humorous sentence, equivalent to "I like to talk about Myth, but I don't like to talk about Myth." It's obvious from the rest of the post, and many others, he doesn't like what we do here.
Hence, my response was, "Right, as I said, then go away and do what you want to do."
He then said he didn't want to go. Ugh…ok, HG…you don't like to theorize about Myth, yet you stay here to…what? be annoying? What's your motive to being here then?
I asked him so when he posted theorizing about the Mythworld which he does not care for.
"I said that rediciluos theorizing about MYTH WORLD!!!" he cried, as incoherently as usual. "And you can't say me what I must do, so SHUT UP archer!"
This is the second instance in only a short time where he was rude to us. Naturally, I chose not to respond in kind.
To respond at all, HG, you contradict yourself in innumberable ways. You put down our efforts here, derogating and demeriting our work. Therefore, you can stop posting here, simply as that. It's only logical; you don't want to post here, so don't.
To all this, Ghôlsbane responded, thinking that our tiff was some deeply-rooted argument, or even ethnic! lol! HGK is obviously not of origin where English is first spoken, but his derivation means nothing to me. What bothers me is that he cannot speak English worth a damn. The English language is the most expressive and tremendous ever in the history of the world, and seeing it shredded to pieces is very disheartening indeed.
: We must be able to speak our own opinion without others
: criticising us on a personal level.
Out of curiosity, is criticizing HG for his lack of communicational ability on a personal level? It's rather a public thing, isn't it; and it shows what a person is like. Equally, is public rudeness on a personal level?
: We must get our point across clearly so it is not
: misinterpreted.
Exactly. Clarity is essential.
: We must have a desire to learn about unmentioned aspects
: of a fantasy world to satisfy our craving for
: knowledge and completeness.
Seeing as we do and he does not, I figured he should simply leave.
: We must use evidence from in-game sources (don't argue
: about what and what isn't canon) and outside sources
: such as the mythology which Bungie used to create the
: names and storyline of their games.
Absolutely. That's a very interesting and intriguing part about Myth.
: We must be able to provide useful information about this
: evidence and/or shed light on new evidence to support
: each argument or statement we post.
Correct, as in any debate.
: We must help each other in our search for the tru7h at
: all times.
Ah yes, one of my personal beliefs.
: We must enjoy ourselves and make Myth a more interesting
: game to play by understanding it better.
That's true. HG believes it is nonsense, so then why does he post about it for no reason?
: And finally, we must never scrutinise someone for any
: prejudice they have and instead let their own actions
: be evidence against them.
As I said, I have no real prejudice but that of desiring some decent form of English. Nevertheless, this is a side note which I have never even mentioned before today.
I agree with you fully, Ghôlsbane. These were the unspoken rules which we all naturally seemed to abide by. Perhaps then you can see why, imo, HG doesn't exactly fit into the Asylumite Directive. He has not done any of the things you mentioned.
So, I have explained myself and my actions, showing why I said "go" in response as a logical answer, and why HG already does not fit into the Asylum. From every of his answers, he shows he wishes only to be stubborn, not to be a part of our society, or even to learn, and the desire not to learn may be the gravest sin of all.
