How is that an insult? If you're going by the theory that the brain, heart and liver, when eaten, will confer opon the eater the slain individual's intelligence, strength and courage respectively, to eat their bodies in this way is anything but an insult: it is an honour! By eating them, you are effectively saying "Though I have defeated and slain this opponent, he was a worthy fighter, strong, brave and cunning. So much so that I want his qualities in these fields for myself."
