: The Mauls only live on the Blind Steppes. The Blind
: Steppes lie east of even the East. North-east to be
: more precise. The East is east of the Cloudspine after
: all. They certainly didn't bother the Cath Bruig much.
: For all we know, they could've come with Soulblighter.
: Whatever is east of the known world of Myth is land in
: which no civilised nation exists, considing that the
: only individuals that go there or come from there are
: Levelers, great heroes or the collaborators the former
: two. And, of course, it could always be that not even
: the great heroes actually come from the unknown
: territories. They might've been born in the East.
There could be dozens of civilized nations to the East. Just because there's a large band of wilderness east of the Dwarven lands, which no one except Avatara dares to cross, doesn't mean there's nothing beyond this. We've got a whole planet to fill up here (unless it really is coin-shaped.) And even if it's *all* wilderness, that's still a lot of space for the Leveller to conquer before he even comes into sight of the Cath Bruig. The inhabitants of those lands may be savage but generally light-oriented like the fir'Bolg.
Also, if Balor approached from the southeast he'd find the Dwarves and Forest Heart in his path before he came to Muirthemne. Do we have dates on the falls of Myrgard and Stoneheim?
