In Response To: Re: Undead Fallen (Welly)

: at this point, my interpretation on the un-state is in
: the air right now, i just acknowledge its existence
: and do not any longer make any speculate specific to
: it and its consequences unless it refers to shades, or
: Fallen Lords directly.

: "generally pointless"? "abandon it"?

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I meant, it seems rather extraneous for something rather clear. Perhaps you could fully explain your theory to me in a new thread (I hate how wide this one is). I'm definitely interested; and I want to see all you wish to present at once.

: the mutilation of soulblighter is different:

Howso? We know nothing of undeath rituals, but what little we hear in legends. We should find out what it takes to make every kind of undead, or at least speculate.

: if you call
: "rotting" in a thrall "mutilation"

I don't.

: you must remember that most thralls have no flesh to
: begin with before being renaimated...

Yeah they do. Nothing is added. Where's this from?

: then how can you
: call *adding* flesh mutilation? and the soulless
: processmight leave them without legs in the first
: place... we don't know if their legs are removed
: *after* the casting. why would that make them float?
: they'd just be cripples. but the mutilation of
: soulblighter is different in every way and
: self-inflicted.

Since it's self-inflicted, maybe this causes the mage to become undead but not bound to anything (necessarily), independant with free will and much power.

: i don't know if the ghasts in Salvation were created
: first then put Back six feet under... i think the
: spell becomes active in the corpse when an enemy gets
: to a certain range: then it pops out and attacks.

Ghasts are different. They're the simplest kind of undead. They don't need any axes or armor, or aging.

: the
: rest of thrall are just made then and there, and come
: out to join the others. but again, we have absolutely
: no evidence either of us is right and probably never
: will unless Myth III answers us.

Hopefully.

: hahah... we're talking about units... um, not models and
: walls and scenery

Yeah; kind of a joke.

: i can see what you mean, but soulblighter appears too
: different to be unliving to me.

Elaborate; give other undead examples.

: i've never believed he
: was because of his lack of all other undead
: characteristics. and i still will unless Myth III says
: otherwise. the upcoming game is the final authority on
: these things :)

Damn straight! :-)

: if shades could be healed in TFL, then by myth II
: soulblighter would have discovered a way to reverse it
: and passed it on to the M2 shades, no healing damage
: at all for either. it still makes sense.

Sure.

: okay :D

k :-)

: i think me and you doubt GURPS on the same level :D

It seems so. We've found allies :-).

: and i also think we trust MIII on the same level also :D

Yup! :-D

: no clue about spelling french words :)

I found out: "tou chι".

: the afterlife of the Myth people is the one dream it
: appears but that is GURPS speculation mostly.

I only take information from the game itself; the ether is from Shiver's flavor.

: but if
: it is right, then your theory about the ether doesn't
: come off sounding correct. *plus* the removal of the
: soul doesn't mean death as a complete end, it makes
: soulless.

Oh, it's death, I asure you. Since the term "death" usually is a final-sounding word, the euphamism of "eternal sleep" is often substituted, as with Myth.

: you have to kill the body and cease it's
: life functions for death but because we cannot know
: what happened during that dream duel, we don't know if
: her body was destroyed as well.

Yes we do. It's in the comic and it says in m2 that her soul was detatched from the body. The soul would reenter the body if the body were fit.

: if i remember, in the
: comic, rabican sensed she was still there at the end,
: so he didn't kill her, just defeated/negated/nullified
: her.

: yep, but *we* know it was the mazz shade, a minor
: character retaining no more importance than cormorant,
: regardless who the body once belonged to.

: that's what i am saying, why Mazz doesn't need some kind
: of intro.

I think we agree and don't know it :-).

: so perhaps the intro that sili wanted was simply left out
: of the journal? what can i say, he was there, you
: killed him.

Sure. It doesn't matter.

: definitely true? it appears to be only one of the many
: removed plot arcs. removed plot arcs aren't true; they
: could have been but their unimplemented state makes
: them non-canon, at least until some solid evidence
: proves otherwise. plus it *could have been the shade
: mazz killing him; we just cannot know yet.

Since no shrine remnant could possibly kill an archmage, it would have to have been a full temple. These only existed during the Wind Age and before (unless only the Oghres built them).

: there were more avatars other than the nine.

Members come and go, but they're not Avatara unless they're in the Nine.

: yep :)

Yo.

: hmm i don't know about a screwup like leaving in Mazz's
: name on the common shade flavor text.

Eh.

: which is why i say that though the TFL alric was
: technically matched to sinis in the game, if it were
: real, alric would have took him to school like he was
: paid to.

Sure.

: it goes beyond simple things like the limited views of
: sprites or the single angles of most secenery: the
: characters themselves interact like actors portraying
: something that happened, yes, but the technical
: aspects of the game.

The technical aspects are backstage.

: Look at the thrall monster tag in Myth II, it is not
: labeled as undead in its monster flags! but we all
: know they are undead.

That flag does nothing, to my knowledge.

: the point is, because there is no hard evidence, just
: theories, to say otherwise, it is logical to have
: other thoughts, like mine.

Sure, sure, which I want more info on.

: If we were debating to see which is simpler, we'd all
: just agree that "omg shades R evil pepl" and
: never post about them again. but instead we debate on
: all the possibilities and outcomes, and in the process
: have fun while doing so. i certainly wouldn't be here
: if i wasn't having fun! that's why i left yeegees's
: forum :D ::hope yeegs aint reading this:

Well-said.
