In Response To: Re: Undead Fallen (Forrest of B.org)

: Actually, I think someone (Craig I think, or mb even
: Scott himself) has stated here that Bungie looked over
: their design doc and gave it the OK before MJ even got
: permission to make Myth III from Take Two, so there is
: some degree of authorization there. Which is what has
: been driving me so nuts - two contradictory authorized
: sources.

All I remember is Scott saying that Bungie looked over their design doc and said "we want to play this game," which of course isn't the same thing. Trawling through the archives revealed nothing else, but I'll love you forever if you can find quotes which establish it one way or the other.

: Doesn't anyone remember that we've already resolved this?
: We looked up the quote and it said "reanimated
: corpses of long-dead sorcerors". We were all just
: misremembering it, probably because all Light
: sorcerors were thought to be Avatara and we assumed
: that undead people were all formerly Light, hence
: undead sorcerors were resurrected Avatara.
: But that's wrong. They're just sorcerors, of any sort. So
: the new difference between M2 and TFL is that in TFL,
: it was a long-dead corpse of no particular
: orientation, brought back to Unlife; while in M2,
: living evil mages go straight to Shadehood. Of course,
: they could just be volunteering to be killed and
: brought back, while you can in fact bring back ANY
: mage's body.

Conceivably the TFL definition could be perfectly consistent with Myth II's; it could mean that they were Shadified a long time ago; as in they lived long ago, became Shades, and have been dead (undead) Shades for a while. Conceivably. :-)
