: That dude looks like a smith--lowercase, a guy that makes
: metal stuff. Hammer, protective eyewear, apron, funky
: experimental gun-flamethrower thing. This is a
: well-established Dwarven career niche--same kind of
: folks as will be making Myth II Dwarves' mortars and
: balloons and cannons--and I don't think it has
: anything to do with the Smiths of Muirthemne, who were
: evidently magicians first and foremost and who
: probably never had to bang on anything with a hammer.
: Now it could certainly be that the actual Smiths who made
: the Tain were, say, a magically-gifted higher level of
: the same organization as this Dwarf. But I really
: don't think it's likely that he's actually one of
: them, and I don't think we can say that this movie is
: intended to show a Dwarven link.
In the interview with Scott Campbell, he said that the Dwarven Smith unit plays a very important role in the story. I think it's pretty clear that they're the Smiths of Muirthemne.
