actually in TFL he was a skilled mage too, remember he used the Tain, something Connacht used. He has some skill as an archmage, just more as a Fighter.

anything GURPS *says about Shiver* i think is up for serious arguement. I agree that GURPS has some good points backed by the game (canon), stuff that's interesting not backed by the game (deutero-canon), and just plain funny things, most of which deal which shiver (pseudopigrapha/apochrypha). remember, the author didn't complete the whole game.
