In addition to the responses above, I'd like to advocate that the Myrkridia killed each other. This is what happened with the Forvalaka of the Black Company series, on which the Myrkridia are based. We know they aren't exactly cuddly cuddly with one another. They willingly kill each other when they're badly hurt. Myrk Giant flavour texts mention eating one another. Deprived of food, they turned to cannibalism, until there were no more left. The last one died of starvation.
