In pregame of the level "Gate of storms" says:(The cities of Scales, Covenant and Tyr have all fallen to him in the last three weeks. It seems that too many years of peace have softened the once legendary armies of the West. Rabican, Murgen and Maeldun have been dead sixty years, and today only Alric remains of the great leaders who defeated the Fallen Lords).
So, Nine were great leaders.
Than in "Great Library" pregame says:(As soon as Garrick was done, King Alric ordered the Seventh Legion through the World Knot to Scales. They have been instructed to seek out Soulblighter's army and destroy it now, before it grows any larger.).
Alric was king and could order.
If commanders were so important why Rabican and Murgen were guarding Bagrada and Seven Gates? Mauriac was commander, why he didn't guard Bagrada?
Nine were good fighters and sorcerers, also they were good at strategy. They lived a lot of years(ex. Alric in Myth II had about 100 years and he was very good fighter to be 100 yars old), and they passed alot of battles. I better chose one vteran that passed a lot of battles to command my troops that one recruit, and you?
