: I believe that the deciever is very much alive and well,
: and i have nothing to base this upon other than the
: fact that he was given so much focus in the game, but
: i believe he will b either a Hero or a Leveller in an
: upcoming sequel...
I'd *like* to believe he survived somehow, since it doesn't a make a whole lot of sense why The Deceiver, who only seems to serve himself (even as a sorceror in Connacht's Cath Bruig court), would choose to die.
Alas, I see the final scene in Shiver as quite final for the old chap. The only suggestive thing that happens in-game that I can imagine has relevance to this issue is the moment at which Myrdred picks up a stray crow on Murder of Crows and says "I've always wanted one of these." Not "Now Soulblighter is finished! GG!"
The fact that even then Myrdred stresses himself and his own interests may mean there's some sleight of hand going on.
In response to Sili, I don't see SB's inability to turn into a crow suggestive of Myrdred's being alive or dead. Presumably, Myrdred could have buried the crow, died, and SB still would have had trouble turning into a flock of crows.
If anything, in order to show Myrdred survived that encounter with Shiver, you've got to show *how* that crow is involved, I think.
