: UNGH! Why does everyone thing this Mantle is an actual,
: physical thing?
: A) a mantle is traditionally a cloak or cape, not armor,
: though armor can be considered a mantle as well.
: B) "the mantle of [whatever]" is quite often
: used frequently, in the same way as "the British
: crown" or "the armor of God".
: When you say someone has the British crown, you're not
: talking about them literally wearing a crown (do they
: even actually wear crowns anymore?), but the office of
: being King or Queen. When you say someone is wearing
: the "armor of God", you're not talking about
: some physical or metaphysical force field surrounding
: them, but a mindset, a state of being.
: Likewise, the Mantle of the Leveller is in all likelyhood
: a figurative thing, representing posession of a person
: by the transitent divinity called the Leveller. When
: someone is "wearing the Mantle of the
: Leveller", they are occupying the office of
: Destroyer, and possessing the mindset of the evil
: spirit which occupies them.
I think that the mentle of the leveler is the cloak we seen on Connacht in one of the intros. Why else would they just show him like that, the intro had nothing to do with the mission then.
