the people who wrote the initial story are part of the present bungie. they have come here in the past, but it has been a fair while since they have been here. the chances of getting much more information from them, though, are minimal, especially with the story no longer being theirs to tell and with a lot more in the pipeline a few months away.
thoth's complaints about how little story there is may be true, but his reason for it is unfounded. the story in myth is told in the pregame journal entries (which are also text and could be as long as a whole novel) and through in-game cinematic sequences, that latter being something marathon could not do.
