What GURPS says on the matter is that Gower's been surrounded by the Dark for millennia--no poncy Leveller's going to finish *them* off. They don't have a chance to build a really advanced civilization, but they're every bit as tenacious as the Zerks at defending their scattered farms. So they're probably still around.
Is there a reason to think that the Berserks or the Bruig are formerly from Gower? As far as we know, they've inhabited their current homelands since time immemorial. And they certainly look nothing like Connacht or Damas. Myrmidons may have come from the East, though--and probably did, since they dealt with Balor before most other people knew about him, and the Berserks are called the Myrms' "northern kin."

I don't think the Berserks are ethnic Bruig. They refer to the Bruig in the 3rd person ("The Bruig were a proud race"). The Heron Guards/Jmen that we've seen have a very distinctive, non-Province appearance that The Head perhaps shares (which would make sense, given where it came from). Note also that the Zerks have the most heavily-accented and "improper" Bruig, whereas the Journeymen speak with the equivalent of BBC standard, as you'd except from a former Cath Bruig native.
From the way they look and dress (based just upon Connacht's appearance), the people of Gower and the people of the Province are a common ethnic group. The Bruig are a second, separate group, as represented by the Jmen, and the Zerks are a third.
