: "The Ibis Crown" level of Myth II shows that
: the Cath Bruig Empire had (apparently human) Imperial
: Archers who were perhaps the long-range equivalent of
: Heron Guards. So yes, there were human archers before
: the alliance with the fir'Bolg.
“To be a bowman in the Imperial Army was an honor second only to acceptance into the Heron Guard. It is said that their honor was so great they would not sleep as long as the crown was in peril.”
: Apparently, the Province's inhabitants never used bows,
: even though the Cath Bruig did.
More than Likely they wouldn't have. They seem to have had a feeble army. The only units coming from the Province being Warriors and Archers (who the province didn't have back then) and Maybe Wizards, Mages, Arch Mages and Avatara but in smaller numbers. I think the Province and the Cath Bruig weren't too friendly with each other until Connacht Combined them to defeat Moagim Reborn.
:Perhaps long-range
: warfare was left to the Avatara. Cath Bruig archery
: was presumably lost with the empire itself, but
: Gower's men may still use bows.
I'm Guessing since its close to the Untamed lands that Gower was completely annilated by Balor. And no-one will settle there again because its surrunded by th Dark.
However l'm guessing that the Beserks and myrms originally came from Gower and when Tireces founded Llancarfan(Muirthemne) he brought them with him and the settled in the North and the Downs(Barrier). But the Gower spearmen remanined in Gower for whatever reason and Connacht rose there.
Chances are that the Beserks are the only remaining pure people of the Bruig(Gower). Since the Heron Gaurds would have some Provincers in them. And the Gower Spearmen were probably all Slaughterd. And Myrms are all Evil. But still there. yet probably unable to Breed and residing in the East OR mabye they reside in Gower.
