: I like Herons, but I also like Zerks. But I think that
: Alric prefered more Herons that Zerks, because after
: Jmen became Herons we see them in all levels.
: Only in the level "Murder Of Crows" we can see
: more Zerks and only one Heron, but I think because in
: Murder Journal text says:(We were captured instantly
: and thrown into rude cells with other prisoners from
: some unsung battle in the west.).
: So, it means that all these Zerks was captured in others
: battles.
: And what happened with others Herons that were with Dec
: in Tain?-you would ask.
: I think that Herons were so fear less that they don't
: wanted that they captured, and they all died in this
: battle, and only one has captured mb because he wasn't
: so fearless.
: So, what do you think about this, Din?
: Heron Guard King
Personally, I think the reason why we see Herons so much in the later levels of Myth2 is because these levels largely centre around Alric's personal force, in most of the Herons would have been, given their role as the Imperial Guard.
And, as to the suggestion that Berserkers are not as fearless as Herons, I must contradict you. According to both GURPS and reason, Berserks have the Berserk disadvantage, and, from GURPS basic set "While berserk, you must make an all out attack each turn a foe is in range, and move as close as possible to a foe if none is in range."
While berserk, there's no way a Berserker would ever surrender. Like their kin, the Myrmidons, Berserks may manoeuvre cannily prior to an assault, and may even temporarily fall back to gain a better advantage, but once battle is joined and the rage is up, there's no way you're going to stop a Zerk short of hacking him to pieces or disarming him. And in the latter case, he'll still carry on attacking you with his hands and teeth! "...we had to fight with our bare hands! You know how hard it is to strangle the undead..." In short, both Herons and Zerks possess a will of iron, nerves of steel and the stubbornness of a mule, and I'd guess that the reason why we see several Zerk prisoners and only one Heron is simply because there were only 80 Herons fighting in the War against Soulblighter, nad there would have been vastly more Zerks than them, so, although both would never allow themselves to be captured if possible, more Zerks will be captured simply because there are more Zerks TO be captured.
Martel, who has just realised he's taken a huge amount of space to make a pretty simple point.
