In Response To: Armor? Why? (Heron Guard King)

: I have seen new Myth III pictures, and there are one pic
: where we can see very well Damas.
: But why doesn't he had armor? In Myth TFL and Myth II he
: hadn't, because he was immortal, but in Myth III he is
: mortal!
: Balor and Watcher had armor, but Shiver, Deceiver and SB
: hadn't got! Why?

These people are heroes or archmages--supertough, superagile, packing awesome defensive spells. They don't "need" ordinary armor and weapons to fight any more than Superman needs a .45 and a kevlar vest. When they do use armor and weapons, they're usually either enchanted (as Balor's armor probably was) or simply there for style. The Avatara carry swords primarily to remind themselves that magic can't solve every problem.

Soulblighter, you'll note, fights like a Zerk--charge in at 90 miles an hour and hack up the enemy with a giant blade before they have a chance to fight back. Armor would only slow him down. He probably fought that way when he was Damas, too. And even then, he may have had onboard defensive magics which took the place of armor.
