: I disagree. We know Clovis was first. We agree there were
: probably some unknown ones that came after. We know
: Connacht came before Ceiscoran because it shows Balor
: with a false Ibis Crown in one of the pregame screens
But it also says, in a separate part of that entry, that when Balor came and Muirthemne was razed, the true crown was nowhere to be found. You could construe a connection, but we don't know. It says that the crown was so powerfull, Ceiscoran had eleven ordinary copies made to make theft more difficult. Then, when Balor came and Muirthemne was razed, the true crown was nowhere to be found. So we Ceiscoran made the copied before Balor razed Muirthemne, but was it because Balor came? That would make sense, but it is not even alluded to; the power of the crown is the alluded reason.
: (and DAMN, but Balor is ugly! His helmet is off and he
: has a decayed face).
I think this is evidence that Balor found the magic armor Alric was sent to find; what better way to keep someone "tireless in battle and invulnerable to attack" than by keeping their body in perpetual ideal condition? If the body gets worn, that wear is immediately coutneracted. If it is cut or damaged, the wound is immediately healed. This would explain why Balor is the stunning devil we see him as before "River of Blood", but the decayed old wretch we see him as in the image you speak of.
