: Well, the funny thing is, I do. I think I simply don't
: understand how things will be taken, not online. Can
: you take my word that I never mean harm or flame?
I'll believe you, but it I have in the past thought you were attacking ppl and others seem to as well.
: Funny…90% of my posts were related directly to GURPS…as
: it was the present topic of that time.
: Anyway, that was only a mention at the very bottom,
: tail-end of that post. But do you see how it was
: related directly to what was said before? I am no
: indecent.
But your most recent posts were not on that same thread. What bothers me is that you manage to talk about in nearly every post, regardless of the context. It does get pretty old.
: This was not one of those times since it related directly
: to what was previously posted.
How so? If you tell me I'll concede this point, but I thought the topic was originally on Homer, then the Dwarven paratroopers. I recall no mention of GURPS 'till you brought it up.
: Only when I think it should be stated, yes, as in the
: said threads and topics.
Then could you please leave it as a given or your signature or something. It does get old, which is the main point of my posts.
: Your love for GURPS so incredible to believe it saved and
: created Myth III (as you say later)? Perhaps we're
: simply on opposite sides of the same issue, having our
: own oppinions. We shouldn't have the right to express
: them?
I actually hold no love for GURPS. I played the system a while ago (although not the Myth module) and found it not to my liking. As for the Myth supplement it is very buggy, but I consider it a useful thing to have on hand for the justified parts and it's got some interesting theories. It's also a useful place to find Myth art. Other than that I have no use for it.
What bothers me is hatred of anything in any form. And the constant repetition of that hatred. I've given up GURPS for canon and hardly look through it anymore (as you could tell by my mistaken River of Blood reference a couple of threads back), but I do not blast it in every post.
: I'd be pleased to see this documentation.
I won't go searching through the archives, and I'm not even sure Scott said it. I thought he did, but I may be wrong. Perhaps it was Forrest or Santa's Head. It involved the fact that GURPS provided the context in which the nascent developement team decided to place their setting.
: Actually, that information was all in the design
: documents (which is rumored to be long over a hundred
: pages long, perhaps hundreds), of which GURPS just
: takes bits and pieces of. Why would GURPS flesh out or
: create something already done in a far better form
: which MJ had access to? At most, it showed those not
: with access to those Holy Grail documents the basics
: of the story, which was certainly nice. Perhaps it
: gave some other people ideas, but Scott was right
: there the whole time with the story in his hand. Also
: note, he denounced it.
: How the hell would that happen? I'm obviously not
: understanding this logic…
Anyway Take2 had been planning to make a Myth 2 sequel since it aquired the series in the MS buyout. They had farmed it out of sorts and were taking in ideas from companies looking to develope it. We have been told that many of these ideas involved using the Halo engine for Myth. MJ managed to snag the contract with their Wolf Age scenario and _then_ got access to the design docs, presumably 'cause they were held by Take2 (BTW Scott, Santa or whoever feel free to refute me if I'm wrong). Obviously after they had the design docs they realized how buggy GURPS was, but remember that they haven't always had it…
: Have you concidered that I might equally
: disappreciate(coinage) the use of GURPS to so utterly
: prove something right when, to me, it is almost as
: entirely subjective as any theory, even those derived
: from it? As I said, you're on one side, I'm on the
: other. Though I usually am a Moderate-Liberal in other
: cases, I'd say I fit onto the Right Wing of the
: MythCanon Scale, whereas you yourself may be on the
: left. We keep eachother in check, just like our golden
: party system of the American Government today :-).
Well I'm pretty far left in political matters (went for Gore though) so it seems we agree on something ;). I don't really understand your money simile though. Explain mb? If it means that you're trying to make GURPS seem less believanble by constantly posting to that effect, there's other ways of doing it.
: Lol, 'a nicer place to be'…gese, that's really harsh.
This wasn't actually meant as an attack on you, just on your posting habits
