: But Bungie HAS called it canon. Well, they didn't use the
: word "canon", but they were selling it at
: the Bungie store as "a vital source of Myth
: information" or some such, which is pretty much
: the same thing.
You have to be f-ing kidding me, Forrest!! This whole time we've been saying Bungie put GURPS on some insurmountable pedastal where it was absolute canon, and it's been THAT!?! OMG!
Ok, ok…this makes it much easier now. "A vital source for Myth information" is an interpretation, an opinion. It or any other such elaboration is not at all the meaning of canon! THIS IS WHAT you have been saying—sili, all the rest—this whole time!?
Such endless debates…such entirely lost time…the great and well-done, well-informed debates…it was all based on the most opinionated, non-debate-worthy thing I've ever heard!
Well…I've started to calm down again…I nearly went into tr0spek there…
So, I'd have to quite surmisely state, GURPS is not canon because Bungie did not say it was canon; at most, they gave some support for the information it contained, which is valid (which means Sili's primary argument goes down the toilet; sorry, gg :-). What just scantly remains is the fact that the information is predominantly unique to GURPS, and what true parts of it there are may be worth study and investment…but those are relatively few and far between, only pieces of a short section in the beginning. Well…I win? :-) Anti-GURPS prevails? No…perhaps a compromise, for I respect the singular quality it has, but little beyond that. But overall, I pretty much win, I guess…unless proven otherwise? :-)
