In Response To: Myth 3 Question (Sigma)

: Just a quick question, I'm sure I'm posting in the
: wrong forums, but it has to do with the story of the
: development of Myth...

: Anyway, I looked at some of the screenshots for Myth3,
: and it looks like the developers are going for a
: model/skin type of body for the units. Is this final,
: because I like the origional 3D units of Myth 1 &
: 2 (if these are also model/skin, sorry), and
: personally I don't think the screenshot units look
: very good...

: (i'm still gonna get the game tho :p)

You're confused on your terminology. The units in the first two games were endered from 3d models, meaning they were 2d pictures of 3d objects. The advantages of using actual 3d characters in the game are numerous. Notably, they animate more smoothly, it's easier to add new animations, and you can give them a more varied appearance with multiple skins. The latter hasn't been seen in any shots yet. The disadvantage is that with modern hardware contraints, they're not as smooth, but you'll normally be seeing them whiel zoomed way out anyway.
