In Response To: re: Guess what I'm sick of: Misunderstanding? (Archer »–)›)

: You are rediculous. Your entire post is a flame against
: me when we already went over this further down. It was
: a misunderstanding and bad call on my part to try and
: lighten the mood to ensure my utter lack of hostility,
: which obviously backfired.
You spelt ridiculous wrong, probably a typo. :) I don't recall ever 'flaming' you, I just pointed out that during my time here you've been involved in two disputes with Forrest, although I do acknowledge that both were resolved.

I do apologize if my post caused you any distress, you caught me at a bad time and I took it out on you. I've never had a beef with you, and I was originally interested in your subsite. It was just reading through your posts, I got the impression you were just looking for an argument.

: Of course; it's a condensation of all the information
: GURPS, as well as Forrest's Encyclopedia, presented. I
: didn't make it up. It's only unique because it's a
: summary, which most regular Mythers want, not a long,
: however interesting and well-done, Encyclopedia
: (though I was under the impression that the
: Encyclopedia was made before Forrest took control of
: bungie.org; someone fill me in).
I don't remember claiming that Forrest invented the Encyclopedia, but if I remember rightly, he wasn't 100% happy with you taking the same thing he did and compacting it. Haven't heard anything about it in a while, suppose he doesn't mind anymore.

: What? What is this about? Badmouthing?? I love them! I
: used Forrest's greatest Cycle, the Forrestine Cycle,
: with the one on Delusions, in conjunction with his
: Über-Theory to create my own. I have all respect for
: it.
Granted. That was my bad. I re-read your old post about Delusions, you didn't badmouth it, just questioned its organization.

: which I have conceeded to. Sili was right about that, and
: I agree.
Good.

: And they didn't. It shows original intent, highly, but it
: isn't a part of the story we're meant to see, like a
: pre-script to a movie.
I still think pre-release takes priority over third party plugs and is probably only superceded by GURPS, the games themselves and maybe the manuals. Even the Myth Comic would rank higher than third party plugs.

: Yeah, but pre-release is just as useless, keep in mind.
: It is, however, good for theorizing on original intent
: and using clues to elaborate theories and ideas.
Agreed.

: GURPS Myth is a Role Playing Game system book which was
: probably less scrutenized than the other GURPS books.
: Comprimises and definite alterations to the story were
: made, or were carelessly overlooked, or such was done
: purposely by Bungie in a drunken stooper to only piss
: us off at this very moment.
I haven't read GURPS in its entirety, as I recall you hadn't until a few weeks back. I'm sure if I had read it all, I could be of more use here. Even if it does have problems, Bungie (no matter how drunk), still sanctioned it.

: Of course, but if Gene Seabolt threw in a plot involving
: a wolverine archmage and his pixie minions, it would
: not be canon, the same if anyone else made something
: up.
I assume Gene Seabolt wrote GURPS Myth, as I hear quite a bit about him. But if he did put it in GURPS Myth, it was with the OK of Bungie.

: Yes, but I've done my share as well, and I have had
: Forrest as my mentor for months. I know him rather
: well, I think; probably more than you (you are a
: newcomer Asylumite, right?)
Not really. I've been absent for about a year, busy with school commitments. Granted, you probably know Forrest better than me.

: Then you leave your flame and personal attack away from
: me.
As I said, I never intended for my post to degenerate into a flame. I was angry and it probably got out out of hand.

: Forrest hasn't further commented on the issue. I agree
: with him. He agrees with me. Why ARE you defending him
: from me when we're not against each other?
If this is so, I am sorry. I don't read EVERY post in the Asylum, so I may be guilty of assumption. I just read further up and noticed that a lot of people were jumping to his aid, not just me.

: Forrest has been a great friend. It's been nice knowing
: him and learning from him. I hope we can work together
: to figure out this inconsistancy and mend it, in some
: way. The problems that Forrest outlined are why I
: wanted to create some site similar to the timeline to
: begin with. I realize now it's a daunting task, and
: had before, so I took to simply build a timeline
: instead, which was as successful as I wanted it to be.
I enjoyed reading over your timeline, it was one of the few non myth.bungie.org things I have found useful. I never posted comments, but I commend your efforts. I never insulted your work in any way, I just said that Forrest's was some of the best.

: Also, my first link on my site is to Myth.Bungie.Org. I
: know where I got my stuff, and I know where credit is
: surely due. I still offer to incorporate my site in
: b.org itself, somehow.
Hopefully I've covered everything, I am usually guilty of sarcasm in my posts, so I won't delve into that quagmire. I apologize once again for any personal attacks in my post, but not for the intent. I am sick of people who come here and undermine Forrest's work, even if Archer is not responsible for it. I was in a bad mood (how many times is that now?) but I recognise my post bordered on a flame, and I withdraw those comments. All better Archer?
