An energy being could have a physical form. Lapsing into physics for a second, there are gauge bosons--the carrier particles of pure energy--which have both charge and mass, so that an energy being could have weight and solidity.
Of course, trying to work out the detailed characteristics of an "energy" being is kinda silly. No human on this planet knows whether an energy being is possible and, if so, what their ranges of properties are. Same for plasma beings, or beings made out of folded space, or beings consisting of homeostatic probability patterns, or beings made of any other chain of random pseudoscientific words. :-) All I'm saying is that there's evidence that whatever Fetch are made of isn't like the stuff ordinary creatures are made of. It could be called energy, or ectoplasm, or Nerf. But it's definitely weird.
