It descibes them as gaunt humanoids. I don't think they disapate when blown up. They just get blown into chunks. People could gather up the pieces and piece together what they looked like if they were so inclined. Where does it says that no one knows what a Fetch looks like under the skin?
If the skin gets torn, Wyrd sees them snatches their soul away which is the effect you see in soft death. It isn't electricity at all.
