I had a long responce which didn't get posted for some reason, so I'll summarize:

Video games by their interactive nature seem to be objective reality. Making something purposefully inconsistent so as to be myth-like isn't a good idea with games for that reason. People have a hard time believing something didn't happen like they thought if they were there.

I'd suggest that we take what happens in the games as reality, excepting the limits of the engine. What the narrators actually witness is similarly true. Anything the narrator hears about or is otherwise in the game, but outside the main narrative is based in truth, but maybe not strictly true. The comic are all presented as tales, so they are somewhat suspect as well. God only knows about GURPS. Take it as speculation, I guess.
