: he hung out with the wrong crowd in the Untamed Lands.
Who said he was an ancient evil? You're right; he's not.
: 2. Now Myrdred never seemed the light kind. I have always
: cassified Myrdred away from the dark and light, he and
: the Head seem to be the unknown veriables, playing
: within the greater design. Both used light and dark
: for their own hidden agendas. I would not call Myrdred
: light when he is desribed as "Deranged, arrogant,
: self-serving... none of these words can fully describe
: The Deceiver." Though he is not dark for Balor
: had to bend him to his will and even then he fought
: against the fallen. He is mentioned as an avatar in
: the wolf age. but his deep ties with the trow say
: otherwise. The trow were entombed early in the wolf
: age giving little chance to kindle freindship. True he
: would have had contact when Balor freed and enlisted
: them,but he seems to have a bond with the trow nation
: as a whole, not just the ones in his service.

: I can't shake the feeling that he apart from the dark
: light cycle. Perhaps he and the Head are mediators of
: the cycle. They make sure every thing balances. The
: wyrd's referees as it were. They make sure the cycle
: runs smoothly. Only thing is Balor gets wind of their
: purpose, and knowing how the cycle works from the
: heron guards who have seen it happen a few times,
: wants all the aces in his hand. What does he do but
: bend Myrdred to his will and lop off the others head
: and bury it. Now Balor figures he won't be killed and
: will live thourgh the new dark age. The comet and
: Tharsis are consequently delayed until the head is
: found and it can choose a hero. As the head whips
: Alric into shape, Myrdred is causing as much trouble
: within the fallen lords as he can to slow their
: progress. Balor convinced the whole things in the bag
: starts to get sloppy, he allows Myrdred's infighting,
: lets Alric escape, and lets himself be blinded by rage
: and got the Fonx kicked out of himself. the big irony
: being that Balor only succeeds in creating another
: light age.

If they were trying to regulate the Cycle, they failed miserably. Moreso, they tried and adequately helped to break it, both games. SiliconDream had the theory that The Head was controlled by The Deceiver, Dec speaking through him. Forrest said it was the closest to the truth, though not quite (Forrest knowing the identity from talking to MJ).
