: Warlocks have always perplexed me. They're the only
: creature in Myth except the summoner who are mere
: humans and yet have powerful magic. They are a very
: secretive society with a checkered past and an odd
: presence. Here's a couple of tidbits to respond to at
: will: 1). They have several unused sequences in their
: tags. Two of them are differnent staff manuvers. One
: where the lock sorta pokes his staff in a direction,
: like casting a lighting bolt or something. The other
: has him slamming his staff to the ground, perhaps in
: an earthquake like move. The last are the most
: interesting. The lock apparently was originaly meant
: to die in a rather bloody fashion, instead of the odd
: way that he does today, as evidenced by the presence
: of body parts corresponding to him.
: 2). This brings us to the subject of his death. First
: off, why does he sort of dissolve, seceond, what are
: those little thing that fly into the air? If we look
: at other creatures, the only thing that mimmicks this
: is the Stygian Knights and the Fetch. In both of these
: cases these are things being released from the host,
: in the SK's case it's the part of the soul binding it
: and in the Fetch's case it actually _is_ the soul.
: Therefor, following this pattern, what is being
: released?
: Perhaps it is the magic the Warlock is channeling that
: tears him apart and breaks free when he loses too much
: control. If this is true, then why does it acsend
: towards the skies. Pehaps the warlocks do indeed tap
: into the One Dream and this is Wyrd reclaiming his
: essence? Another possible explanation is that the
: anecdotes about Locks giving up their souls to dark
: powers in order to use magic have some truth in them.
: It would seem plausible that those said powers are
: taking back what is theirs when we see the bodies of
: the Warlocks torn asuder and their souls or essence
: fly into the heavens… What do y'all think?

I can't help with the death sequence too much, or anything else for that matter :) A reason they might have different methods of movement might correspond to something thats always perplexed me. Warlocks of -Fire-. Perhaps intially the Scholomance was supposed to have representatives of all different sorts in the game. Air Locks who shot lightning bolts, Earth locks who shook the earth (although this would've resulted in PiD connections ;) ).
To turn to the death sequence, perhaps their death doesn't seem to indicate too much flash, its almost serene in its flair, as opposed to the violent explosions elsewhere. Maybe when the Warlocks 'die' they're just popping back to a safe location. After all with a friend like the Deciever, you'd have plans in place too. :)
