That didn't stop Alric from using an honour guard that was about 65% Zerks when he sprung Balor at Rhi'Anon!
Seriously, though, my guess is that they don't let Zerks into the Heron Guards because the Heron order excludes anyone with severe mental problems... and anyone who can charge headlong at a Wight screaming "He's mine!" in a Norwegian accent certainly classifies for severe mental problems in my book. And no, that hasn't ever happened to me, although I do know one guy who charged a Wight with his warriors on "The Battle of Madrigal", mistaking it for a Thrall. Heh heh heh.
