To give Mumbo Jumbo full benefit of the doubt, it's possible that the Myrgard Avengers were simply an elite unit, possibly with some slikks as scouts and infiltrators, before the invention of parachutes, which, when they came into being, were felt to compliment the skills of the Avengers perfectly. Then again, perhaps they just messed up.:)
