: The Wolf Age hasn't ended by the years of TFL and
: Soulblighter.
The Wolf Age ended when Balors head was destroyed I think. Or at least that was the prevailing idea back last summer.
: I came to this potential conclusion after reviewing the
: Epilogue of Myth II. The Cycle that is mentioned here
: is very different from what GURPS seems to imply by
: the potential A/B Cycle.
: 1. The world must belong in turn to men or to monsters,
: to Light or to Dark.
: 2. The point is again strongly made that Light goes to
: Dark and Dark to Light…but then again, nothing can go
: from Dark to Dark or Light to Light; it stays
: constantly Light.
But remember, the cycle may have been thrown badly out of whack during the last 2000 years.
: The Age is still the Age of Light, the Wolf Age. This
: allows the victory of the Light and its continued
: presense to make sense. With this, the Cycle was not
: broken.
Besides the apperence that the cycle is now unbalenced (which seemed to be the way Bungie was leaning) we must also conciter how soon it is to be making judgments about the light or darkness of the age. For all we know this could be a dark age without a Leveler to usher it in properly.
: Something else which disturbs me is this: "Connacht,
: the great hero of the Wind Age". Why is Connacht
: still of the Wind Age? Everything he did was in the
: Wolf Age. Or, is it more that the Great Heroes are
: heroes against the previous Age, such as Tireces being
: the Great Hero of the Axe Age? I also find it odd that
: the Ages start before they truly occur, that the Wolf
: Age starts before Connacht eliminates all the evil,
: before the golden age of the Fourth Era itself.
Connacht was born into the Wind Age. His exploits mostly occured during that time. The Wolf Age only started (and I may be wrong, it's been awhile) after he had defeated the Leveler, kind of like the Sword Age starting after Alric killed Balor.
So Tireces was of the Axe Age, but began the age of Reason. Moagim killed the unknow hero (also of the age of reason) and brougt up the Wind Age. Connocht was of the Wind age and set up the Wolf age, and so on and so forth.
